These are a couple more butterfly cards that I made for my friend.  Both of them use the Merci set.  If I remember right, it was a free set during Sale-A-Bration several years ago.  I watercolored both of them using reinkers and blender pens.  The greeting on the first card is from the Fundamental Phrases set.  The paper is Pixie Pink and So Saffron, with the Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper.  I keep "saving" that paper, because it is just so cool.  WHY???  It makes such great cards and does me no good sitting in my incredibly large stash, haha!  Looks much better on a card!  I also used a scrap of the bright pink handmade paper.  To tear it easily, just wet it with a blender pen and rip it.

As I was making this set of 12 cards, I was using up some things from past classes.  The part that is watercolored was already finished and even had the ribbon around it and a rhinestone ready to go.  It also had glue on the back.  It must have fallen off a card at some point and I just stuck it in the stamp box.  Anyway, this card obviously came together very fast!

Today I got to go to an Open House hosted by the demonstrator I've been going to.  She and the group she belongs to put it on...maybe about 10 ladies?  Anyway, it was so fun.  They had a big sale of all their old stamps, demonstrations and make & takes.  Sort of made me miss the old days of demonstrating, but not too much.  ;)   I bought a few stamps and some accessories.  Fun new stuff to play with!

Cards for a Friend

A friend from church is very ill, so a couple of weeks ago, I made a card for everyone in Relief Society to sign.  I remembered to take a picture of it, so I would have something to put on here, haha.  So you can get an idea of the size, it is a full sheet of paper, folded in half.  This card uses Baja Breeze card stock and Walk in the Park Designer Series Paper. The flower stamps are from Flower Factory.

Over the last couple of days, I've also made her a dozen other cards that she can send to her daughter who is on a mission for our church.  When she would come to stamp here, she would always make her daughter purple cards with butterflies because those were her favorites.  All of the cards have butterflies, but I did branch out a bit from the purple and use other colors.  Quite a bit of the paper I used was already cut from classes waaaaayyyyy back when......, such as this one.  I used Kraft paper for the main card, and Not Quite Navy, Parisian Breeze DSP, then card stock vellum for the butterfly.  The stamps I used are Fine Lace for the background, God's Beauty and Sassy Salutations.

Medallion

I didn't place an order from the new catalog until August! That is a record for me. This is the first stamp I HAD to have. It is called Medallion. It is one of the "big mama" stamps, as I call them. As I look at other blogs, I think it is a favorite among a lot of stampers. The greeting I've used is from Kind and Caring Thoughts. Colors are Taken with Teal and Certainly Celery.

The Designer Paper is called Kaleidoscope. As my sister and I went through the catalog over the phone, we both said that this paper wasn't "us", but we both loved it. It is a little bright for either of us, but in person I just love it and can't wait to use it more.

No One Like You

I used one of the Simply Sent Card Kits on this card. I think these kits get overlooked by die-hard stampers. I loved this particular stamp set, called No One Like You, from the minute I saw it though and just got it recently. The kits are made for newer stampers, because they come with everything you need to get started including stamps, ink, paper, envelopes, ribbon, embellishments and adhesive. I used my own paper, etc. for this card rather than what came with the kit, however. I made this card for my monthly church swap group. I really like how it turned out.

Upsy Daisy Kiwi

I wasn't sure if I should even post this card, because the scan just isn't near as pretty as it is in person. Since I haven't done anything else new this week though, I decided to put it up for you. This is the card I had everyone make at Judy's workshop last night. These ladies are so fun to get together with. I always look forward to seeing them. They get excited about everything. We inked up the flowers in Kiwi Kiss and then took the Always Artichoke marker and ran it along the tops of each flower for some added color. After showing this ribbon, the Striped In Color Ribbon Club immediately filled and I was able to get it ordered last night. Now we can fill up another one. Are you interested?

I demonstrated the Big Shot for the first time! (I told you I'd break down and get it.) I need some practice at putting the baskets together, but I really like them. They'll make the neatest favors for showers, teachers, classrooms, whatever!

Upsy Daisy

I STAMPED! Tuesdays are so crazy for me and yet I decided I wasn't leaving the house until I took time to make a card for my blog. That's just how it goes. I got three new sets on Friday and finally took a few minutes to put them together yesterday. This is one of the 10 sets that are 15% off through the end of the month (hurry!). I LOVE it and so does my sister. See her cute cards here. (Go down a little ways.....P.S. HB Justus! Looks like we missed a great party! :) )

I embossed the flowers and greeting after stamping them in craft ink on the Bella Rose Designer Paper. LOVE that paper. This is one of those cards you need to see in person. This color of pink just doesn't look good through the internet.

Today is crazy, as I said. Driving, driving, driving, lots of driving, piano, soccer, band, RS Social, plus fitting in some other things that I'm not sure how we'll do. Somehow it always works out. I'm always relieved when it is time to go to bed!

Phrases for a Friend

Thanks to Tanya, my downline and bloggin' buddy for guiding me through the Friday the 13th fiasco. It is all figured out and things are find now!

Don't you love this Designer Paper??? It is one of my favorite packages, and will only be available until June 30th. It is the Afternoon Tea DP and is featured in the Occasions Mini Catalog on the right hand side of my blog. The stamp set has four stamps in it and is called Phrases for a Friend. It has this stamp, plus Congratulations, Thanks So Much and Celebrate You. It also uses several of the In Colors: Soft Sky, Wild Wasabi and Groovy Guava. These will all be retired August 10th. For the phrase, I inked the whole stamp with the Groovy Guava ink pad, then used the Chocolate Chip marker to ink the "you" and also outline the "thinking of" a little bit. Sounds a teensy bit complicated but it wasn't really.
